Queue networks
Brief description
Queueing networks are a versatile tool for modeling production processes, among other things. In some industries, such as semiconductor manufacturing, parts are not transported individually, but in batches, both back and forth between production machines and processed at the machines. In addition, several different products are often manufactured in one production process, which must be modeled together because they share process equipment. So far, models are available either for the modeling of group arrivals and operations or for multi-product networks. The goal of the project is to develop models that adequately represent both multiple products and group arrivals and service.
